The late Great Grandteacher Cheng Wan

Grandmaster Cheng Wan (glasses) was one of kind. He was old fashioned and yet high tech. He was Hakka with International friends. He aged but remained young at heart.
Very few remain alive today of his Chu Gar Mantis generation.

His annual Celebrations always included dozens of demonstrations and awards from various styles including Chu Gar, Bok Mei White Eyebrow, Dragon Shadow, Choy Li Fut, Hung Gar, Wing Chun, North Shaolin, Qigong and many more. Almost every style in Hong Kong was always represented!
For 35 years or more, every year, hundreds of folks, from the world over, gathered on or near his birthday in the Summer to celebrate the spirit of Chinese Kungfu in Hong Kong!

Unicorns and Lions dance and dazzled the crowd before the swearing in of new students and the kungfu demonstrations. And then he treated everyone to fantastic meals, great wine and Karaoke! It was always an old fashioned kungfu celebration of the first order!
